State 1099 and W-2 Form Mandates
1099 Reporting Software and Outsourcing Solutions

The IRS created the Combined Federal/State Filing (CF/SF) program nearly 20 years ago. Through this program, filers send one file to the IRS, which is then forwarded to participating states. Each year, states may join or withdraw, but the list usually includes about 30 states.
In addition, many states now require filers to upload data directly to their Department of Revenue. This rule applies even if the state participates in the CF/SF program and you already filed electronically through that system.
