IRIS Portal Record Limits

icon-aca-soft

The IRS IRIS Taxpayer Portal is intended primarily for smaller-volume filing. Beginning in January 2026, each CSV file may contain up to 250 information returns. Only one CSV file can be uploaded at a time, and each upload must be reviewed before it is submitted.

Filers may upload as many separate CSV files as necessary, but large batches must be divided into groups of 250 or fewer. For example, a company filing 10,000 returns would need at least 40 separate CSV uploads.

Businesses filing large numbers of information returns may find IRIS Application-to-Application, or IRIS A2A, more practical. IRIS A2A does not use a fixed 250-record limit. Instead, each A2A transmission may be up to 100 MB, and filers may send as many transmission files as needed. Each submission must contain the same form type and tax year.

At 1099FIRE, we transmit information returns through the IRS IRIS A2A channel. This allows businesses with hundreds or thousands of records to avoid dividing their data into numerous 250-record portal uploads. We review and validate the filing data and transmit it directly to the IRS on the customer’s behalf.

We make IRIS filing for 1099s and other supported information returns simple and stress-free. Our team reviews your data, checks for errors, and transmits your returns through the secure IRS IRIS A2A channel. Call our sales team at (480) 706-6474.

Avoid repetitive portal uploads and record limits. Let 1099FIRE handle your original filings, corrections, and high-volume submissions accurately and on time.
