Understanding Your IRIS Filing Status

icon-aca-soft

1099FIRE retrieves the IRS acknowledgment, reviews the filing status, and identifies any errors or additional action that may be required. When an error is found, corrections can be prepared and filed quickly through our system.

Electronic filing provides faster processing, confirmation of receipt, and detailed status information that is not available with traditional paper filing.

After an IRIS A2A transmission is submitted, the IRS processes the filing and returns an electronic acknowledgment. 1099FIRE retrieves the acknowledgment, reviews the results, and identifies any errors or additional action that may be required.

Processing

The IRS has received the transmission but has not completed its review. Do not submit a replacement while the filing remains in Processing status.

Accepted

The IRS successfully processed and accepted the transmission. No replacement filing is required.

Accepted With Errors

The IRS accepted the transmission but identified one or more errors. The acknowledgment should be reviewed to determine whether corrections or other action are needed.

Partially Accepted

Some submissions within the transmission were accepted, while others were rejected. Accepted submissions should not be sent again. Rejected submissions must be corrected and retransmitted as replacements.

Rejected

The IRS could not successfully process the transmission or submission. Records included in a rejected filing are not retained by the IRS. The errors must be corrected, and the affected information must be retransmitted as a replacement.

1099FIRE maintains the IRS Receipt ID for each transmission, retrieves the acknowledgment, and tracks the filing through its final status.
