Who Receives Form W-2G
A person who wins gambling amounts above certain thresholds will receive a W-2G form. Common types of winnings and thresholds include:
1. $1,200 or more from bingo or slot machine
2 .$1,500 or more from keno (after subtracting the wager)
3. $5,000 or more from poker tournaments
4. $600 or more from other types of gambling (such as horse racing or lotteries) if the payout is at least 300 times the wager
