Import 1099-S

Each column has to be read in the correct sequence. The 1st column on your data identifies whether this information return is Void. The 2nd column has a value for Corrected and so forth following in the order below for the 1099-S:

Filer Federal identification number
Transferor Federal identification number
Transferor Name
Transferor Address
Transferor City
Transferor State
Transferor Zip
Account or escrow number
S_1 // date of closing
S_2 // gross proceeds
S_3 // address or legal description
S_4 // check here if the transferor received or will received property
S_5 // buyer's part of real estate tax

Type of TIN is taken from the TIN itself. If the TIN contains one dash (-), then the TIN type is EIN. If the TIN contains two dashes, then the TIN type is an SSN. Otherwise the TIN is identified as unknown.
