1095 XML Schema Validator
XML schema describes the structure and constraints of what can and can not be transmitted in an XML document. The ACA
guidelines are detailed, extensive and updated regularly (tax year 2015 had 7 revisions of the XML schema while tax year
2016 is on its first revision). Our XML schema validator is current for tax year 2016.

How to Use 1095 XML Schema Validator
Its easy to use. A screenshot of the ACA schema validator is below:
Click on Open XML and browse to find any 1094/1095-B or 1094/1095-C XML file. Our 1095 software creates the XML files on the C: drive, FIRE folder, 1095-B or 1095-C subfolders. Find the XML file and click Validate XML Against Schema.
The ACA schema validator will find errors with a line number and position. If there are no errors, the software shows blank. A typical error would look like the following: ERROR in Line: 10, Position: 32 "The 'EmployerEIN' element is invalid - The value ' 123456789' is invalid according to its datatype 'EINType' - The Pattern constraint failed." For this example, the error is in line 10, position 32. Find the XML file. Double click on the XML file and it should open in notepad. In notepad, go to Edit/Go To and type in Line 10 and hit Go To. That will take you to line 10. You can then hit the right arrow 32 times to find the exact position where there is an error. Finding errors in 1095-B and 1095-C XML files is a very difficult task. Our 1095 XML schema validator can pinpoint errors and provide a line number and position number.
