NOTE: If you have never printed from the
program, run a test print prior to align the data. Choose the
offset options to move the print left, right, up or down. Once you
have configured your printer correctly, select the Save icon to
remember your print settings.
The 1099 software has multiple
print options and features available:
1.
Print the data only onto the approved forms purchased or received
from the IRS. This option is necessary for the copy A red copy
which is submitted to the IRS. Copies B and C give you the option
to insert those copies directly into the printer, then print the
data onto those forms.
2.
Print both the form and data. For both copy B & C, you may choose
to have the program print the actual form directly, already
complete.
3.
Choose the number of copies per page. The software allows forms to
be printed three per page, or choose the one per page option by
selecting that checkbox (see below).

To print your data,
first open your data file if it isn’t already open, by selecting
FILE, then OPEN, and retrieving your file. Select the PRINT button
at the top of the screen, and when prompted, choose the type of 1099
you wish to print.
The print option
screen will appear. Select the 1099 data you wish to print by
checking the name, or if you are printing all choose the SELECT ALL
button. Next, choose what it is you wish to print. If you want to
print copies A, B and C, you will need to select each individually,
print, then select the next copy. In other words, you would first
choose copy A, print all of the copies you wish, then select Copy B
and print, then choose Copy C and print. The different copies
cannot all be chosen simultaneously.
To print copy A,
choose the print data only option, insert the red copy into your
printer prior to choosing the data to print.
The 1096 option is
included in all versions of the software, and is printed in similar
fashion. Please note that if you are opting to file electronically,
a 1096 will not need to be submitted.
