The Comptroller General of the
United States shall--
(1) conduct an in-depth
study of the root causes of the financial crisis; and
(2) submit a report to the
Congress and the President, and transmit a copy to the
Secretary of the Treasury, containing the findings and
conclusions of the Comptroller General with respect to
the study under paragraph (1), together with such
recommendations for legislative and administrative
action as the Comptroller General may determine to be
appropriate before the end of the 6-month period
beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act.
